When a potential bride contacts me about photographing her wedding, the first thing that I do is send her a beautiful branded pricing guide (well at least I think its beautiful! ). This guide shares a little bit about me, my philosophy, the engagement session, and ultimately what a wedding experience looks like with me as your wedding photographer. As I continue to grow my client base, the more I encourage my brides to book an engagement session, and I do this for three reasons.
- I want my couples to get comfortable in front of the camera. For many of them, this is the first time that they’ve had their pictures professionally photographed, and it can be an uncomfortable experience. My job as the photographer is to make you feel as comfortable as possible by encouraging you, complimenting you on what you are doing well, and ultimately providing a positive experience for you. By booking your engagement session, this will allow you to get to know me a little bit better and I can get to know you as well.
- An engagement session will help couples learn my posing technique and shooting style. This is so important because we will figure out which poses you naturally like best, so we can work out all the kinks before your wedding day. You’ll be more comfortable on your big day and we will know your go-to poses so that we can make sure to stick to the timeline and let you enjoy your day. We will be able to move faster, and ultimately get more pictures done in a shorter amount of time.
- Engagement is such a special, short, and unique season of life, and we want to preserve those memories. An engagement session will capture the emotions and interactions between the bride and groom, and will help you to cherish these moments forever.
I hope this helped you understand the importance of an engagement session! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me. I’m happy to help in any way that I can.
With joy,
Kelsie
