2016 was my first full year in business and it was full of a lot of “firsts.” It was my first full wedding season, my first time second shooting. My first time paying business taxes and my first time living on my own. I moved to Columbus all by myself and it was the first time that I had ever blindly met someone in person that I found on social media. I joke now that all of the friends I make nowadays I find on social media first, but hey, it’s true! I’ve found so many amazing people on Instagram and they have become dear friends. I attended my first Tuesday’s Together meet up and I’ve gained more friends than I can count.
In 2016 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Miami University with a degree in marketing. I joined a new church and started attending their life group every week. I bought a whole lot of new camera equipment (WAAYYYY more than I ever care to admit!) and more clearly defined my style of shooting using my new equipment, of course! I attended the KariMe Workshop and invested in additional education this winter to create consistency in my business. I committed to blogging more regularly and it has been game changer. I began to create an experience for my clients and have enjoyed loving on them and surprising them all year long.
In 2016 I planned my first styled shoot with Monica Brown Photography and we were published!! We are in the process of planning our next shoot and it is going to be epic!! All in all, I photographed 11 weddings, 2 styled shoots, 8 engagement sessions, 45 portrait sessions and so much more. It was a busy year but my heart is so incredibly full. I cannot wait what next year has in store!
