After you’ve spent hours and hours pouring over all of the details of your wedding day, your photographer should do all that they can to capture them beautifully. As soon as I arrive, I typically photograph the bridal details which include (but are definitely not limited to) your shoes, jewelry, flowers, perfume, veil, garter, invitation suite and your dress. I love this part of the day because the details are what tie everything together. Plus, if you were to create an album, these images would be the perfect final touches for your gallery.
Something that I always try to capture is a full-length dress shot before the bride steps in it. With the whirlwind of the day and last-minute planning, brides often forget that the hanger their dress is hanging on is most likely plastic, which is not the prettiest for pictures. Something that I always recommend to my brides is getting a pretty hanger, whether it’s black velvet or wooden with your name in wire script. This will add another sentimental detail to your day (especially if your future last name is written on it!), and make the images of your dress so much better. Plus, it would make a perfect bridal shower gift from the bridesmaids, or brides could gift them to their bridesmaids. For those of you who have an April wedding, it isn’t too late to find one!
