A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to mentor my sweet childhood friend, Abby. Abby and I grew up together and were always scrapbooking, painting, you name it! We’ve always been the creative ones of our friends, and Abby has continued to pursue the arts more than ever before! She is an incredibly talented artist, and I’m so thankful that we share a love for photography as well. She has a passion for encouraging outdoor adventure, and boy does it show in her photos! Her landscape portraits are AHHHH-MAZING!!! Seriously, go check out her work. However, Abby is starting to break into the wedding industry so that’s where I come into the picture (get it?).
During our session we covered all things business, starting with marketing, blogging, pricing, client experience, lighting & locations, workflow and so much more. We also did a portfolio and website review to make sure that her online home is supporting her business in the best way possible. Of course, we ended our time together with some new wintery headshots! We took all of these in a span of about 7 minutes because it was approximately 3 degrees outside haha. Let’s just say we were cold and my fingers could no longer feel the camera buttons. Anyway, it was such a JOY to pour into another photographer’s business and share the tips and tricks that I’ve used to grow my business. I have a heart for encouraging other photographers and can’t wait for more mentoring sessions this year! I have limited availability but would love to fill my remaining spots in 2018! If you’re interested, I would LOVE to hear how I can serve you through a mentoring session!
