If you’ve been following my journey, you’d know that I’ve always been very open with my faith. This business has been such an incredible journey watching how the Lord’s been faithful over and over again. I’m a strong believer in Jesus and view my business as a platform for ministry. I love sharing about the gospel and have a huge heart for reaching those who’ve never heard the Good News as well as discipling those who know Him.
I’ve been a believer since a young age and accepted Jesus into my heart when I was in 5th grade (I think lol). I was baptized as a baby, but not when I was old enough to make the decision for myself. As I learned more about baptism and what that truly means, I felt that there was a difference between being baptized as an infant, and being baptized as an adult who consciously made that decision to proclaim their faith.
If I’m being completely honest, I’d been thinking about getting baptized for years (at least 6!), but I never actually went through with it. Maybe it was a pride thing, maybe it was that I was too busy to make it work, but over this past year, I really felt the Lord calling me to get baptized. It was more evident than it had ever been, and I knew that I couldn’t ignore it. As I began to pray more about what it would look like, I was also praying about what it would look like to pursue my business full time. It’s funny how the Lord plans these things in advance, and goes before us to prepare the way. As I entered into a new season of life saying “yes” to God and His timing, baptism is the perfect symbolism. Buried in the likeness of Jesus’ death, and raised to walk in new life with Jesus Christ.
I chose to be baptized at the lake at Alum Creek. It was a beautiful, sunny September Sunday and my closest friends and family were all there to celebrate with me. My sweet friend Bekah, who was my discipler in college was able to baptize me along with Alan, the young adult ministry Director at my church. Bekah played such an important role in me truly understanding what it looked like to follow the Lord, so it was really special that she was there for such an important step in my walk with Jesus.
I’m so thankful that my sweet friend Stephanie was able to capture this moment for me. I’ll truly cherish these images forever!
I’d love to share more about my story with you! For a peek into my personal testimony, head on over here.
