When I think about the weddings that are most memorable throughout my entire career as a wedding photographer, usually it’s the ceremony that sets an event apart from the rest.

I always encourage my couples to consider unique elements throughout the day that will really reflect their personality. The best way to do this is at your ceremony! There are so many things that you can do to reflect the personality of you & your fiance throughout the ceremony.

1. Writing your own vows: I love it when my couples write their own vows. This makes the ceremony so personal, and often times couples include funny stories that make for great emotion!
2. Playing worship songs: If you have musically talented friends, this is such a special way to include them in your wedding day. Worship is such a beautiful way to glorify the Lord at the very start of your marriage.
3. Unity ceremony: There are quite a few unity ceremonies that you can choose from. Some of my favorites are a sand ceremony, a planting ceremony, or a braiding ceremony.
4. Washing feet: I love when couples choose to wash feet as their first humble act as a married couple.
