I had the pleasure of working with the Barham family during their Family Half Session. Because I know that every family has different wants and needs for their session, I put together a few different collections for the KLP Family experience and the Barham’s chose a half session which consists of 30 minutes. You get to pick the location for these family half sessions and the Barham Family chose the Millennial Suite.

The Barham family came dressed to kill with mom and dad in blacks, whites and tans and their adorable baby girl adding a pop of color with a dark green velvet dress. The Millennial Suite complemented their outfits with its hardwood floors, white brick walls and lots of natural light. I shot a variety of sweet moments between the family including kisses, laughs, and lifts as we posed differently throughout the suite. We even found a couch and a ladder that added a different dynamic to a few of the shots.

The love this family has for each other was not hard to capture. My favorite family photos are the ones where everyone’s personalities are shining through. As much as we love photos with all of the kiddos looking at the camera, sometimes the best photos are actually the ones where you’re all looking at each other, having a tickle fight or tossing your little one up in the air. By documenting your family as it truly is (chaos and all) and not stressing over whether or not everyone is on their best behavior, you’ll end up with more authentic photos rather than trying to force a smile. I was able to capture a wide variety of those types of photos with the Barham family.
