As a product photographer, one of the many perks is that I don’t need to be in the same city as you, let alone even the same state!
Most brands will ship their products to me so that I can photograph them. Over the years, I’ve learned a few tips for making sure that your products arrive safely & are ready to be photographed. Here are a few that may not be as obvious:
- Provide extra labels & packaging: I encourage you to include some extra labels & packaging in the box. This way we can have pristine packaging & can re-label if necessary. This is especially important for refrigerated products! The packaging may arrive dented or soggy from ice packs, and that will not look good in photos.
- Send more product than you think: It’s always better to have more product than not enough. Especially if your products are easily dented or scratched. If we have multiple products to choose from, we can ensure that we are photographing the best one.
- Hand select the products: If at all possible, I recommend hand-selecting the products that are shipped to us. This way, you can choose products that are labeled correctly, don’t have extra stickers and the expiration date isn’t smack dab in the middle or on top of your logo!
I make sure to always over deliver to my clients and make their vision become a reality. If your product photos need sprucing up contact me for all your branding needs.
