Senior sessions are always special, but when you pair an incredible location with a senior full of personality, magic happens! Recently, my associate senior photographer, Brooke, had the opportunity to photograph a senior session at Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus, and it was nothing short of amazing.

Scioto Mile is one of my favorite locations for senior sessions. With its mix of urban architecture, scenic riverfront views, and lush green spaces, it offers endless variety for portraits. We started near the courthouse with the beautiful marble, then captured some classic blue-hour shots with the city skyline in the background, and finished with some party flash near the fountains. The skyline reflections on the water added a dreamy touch to the images!

Timing is everything in photography, and for this session, we scheduled our shoot right before sunset. The golden hour light illuminated the bridges and buildings beautifully, giving the photos a warm, natural glow. The soft light enhanced Cambell’s natural features and added depth to each shot. Once the sun went down, we took advantage of the city lights to get some really fun shots!

One of my favorite parts of senior sessions is seeing how each senior expresses their personality through fashion. For this shoot, Cambell chose a mix of casual and dressy outfits—a classic denim combo for a relaxed vibe and a flowy dress that stood out against the cityscape. The contrast between the outfits and the environment created a dynamic, visually appealing gallery.
