Hello and welcome to the KLP blog! My name is Kelsie and I'm a wedding & portrait photographer based in Columbus, Ohio. Grab a cup of coffee (or in my case - a chai latte), a glass of wine or a bottle of coke and enjoy viewing my latest work, browsing resources for brides and photographers, and getting a little peek into my life.
I’ve been there, trust me. I know it’s nerve-wracking showing up to a reception not knowing what to expect. I also know the feeling of your heart sinking to your stomach when you realize there are no windows and it’s a black hole.
I have been there before, and I know that feeling all too well. It’s a feeling that I don’t wish on anyone! After my first year in business, I set out to learn all about flash so that I didn’t have to worry about receptions again. I wanted to be confident in my flash skills so that I knew I’d be proud of the reception photos that I delivered to my clients.
Over the last few years, I’ve really defined my reception lighting style and I am so excited to be breaking down my process just for you! Over at The Second Shooter Society, we have a detailed Reception Lighting & OCF Guide that explains literally everything you need to know about flash.
Everything from the color of light, the angles of light, light modifiers, reception setups, basic flash settings and more is covered. It’s over 20 pages of no-fluff content that will give you the confidence you need to light beautiful reception photos! Check out the guide below:
