There’s just something special about bringing a newborn home – and even more special about capturing those first moments right where life is actually happening.
In-home newborn sessions will always have my heart. There’s a comfort you just can’t recreate anywhere else. Your baby is surrounded by familiar smells, soft blankets, and the quiet rhythm of your everyday life. And as parents, you get to settle in, relax, and simply be present instead of worrying about packing bags or sticking to a strict timeline.
This session was the perfect example of that.
We started in her nursery, and it was the sweetest space. Every little detail had been thoughtfully put together, and it made the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful season. From the soft light coming through the windows to the tiny touches that made the room hers, it felt calm, cozy, and full of love. She was completely at ease, which meant we could take our time and capture those gentle, in-between moments that matter most.
One of my favorite parts of the session was including the whole family – pup included. There’s something so special about documenting those early introductions, when everything still feels new. The way the dog curiously snuggled in, already protective and gentle, added such a personal and joyful layer to their story.
And of course, we had to bring a little personality into the mix.
Out came the Ohio State jerseys, and it was such a fun way to make the session feel even more “them.” Paired with the cutest little onesie, it was the perfect blend of meaningful and playful. These are the kinds of details that make your photos feel personal, not posed. The things you love, the traditions you’re already passing down it all deserves to be remembered.
That’s what I want every newborn session to feel like. Not rushed. Not overly styled. Just real, comfortable, and full of connection.
Because these days? They go by fast. But photos like this bring you right back.
If you’re expecting and dreaming of a session that feels relaxed, meaningful, and true to your family, let’s make it happen. Reach out to start planning your in-home newborn session.
