There’s just something about fair season that makes summer feel extra special. The lights, the rides, the colorful backdrops, and all the memories made along the way. And now that fair season has come and gone, I’m already wishing we could do it all over again!
One of my favorite ways to celebrate my senior girls throughout the year is with a few extra mini sessions sprinkled into their senior experience. These ladies have already had their individual senior sessions, but that doesn’t mean we’re done making memories together!
This year, we headed to the fair for a senior mini session that was full of laughter, sunshine, and so much personality. And let me tell you, it was SO much fun!
Ohio State Fair is one of those locations that brings an entirely different kind of energy to senior photos. It’s colorful, playful, and full of opportunities to create something a little different from a traditional senior session.
From the rides to the bright colors and fun little corners of the fairgrounds, there was no shortage of photo opportunities. It was the perfect setting for these girls to let loose, have fun, and just enjoy being together.
We started with some group photos, and this one might just be one of my favorites!
Six beautiful seniors, a gorgeous carousel, and a whole lot of personality. I love how this image captures the fun of the day. Everyone brought their own style, their own smile, and their own little bit of magic to the photo.
And honestly? These are the kinds of photos that make me love what I do.
One of the things I love most about working with my seniors is that our time together doesn’t have to end after their main senior session.
These girls have already had their individual senior portraits taken, but throughout the year, I offer a couple of mini sessions to give them even more opportunities to get in front of the camera.
Think of it as an extra little celebration of senior year!
We get to explore new locations, try different styles, and create photos that capture all the fun happening during this exciting season of life. And the fair was the perfect excuse to do something a little different.
Along with our group photos, each girl also had the chance to get individual portraits. So while we captured the friendships and fun of the group, we also made sure everyone had their own time to shine.
Because while I absolutely LOVE a good group photo, every senior deserves images that celebrate her individually, too.
Senior year is such a unique chapter. It’s full of big milestones, exciting plans, friendships, and all those little moments that somehow become the memories you look back on the most.
That’s why I love creating opportunities like these fair mini sessions. They give my seniors a chance to step away from the busy schedules, enjoy time with their friends, and have a little fun in front of the camera.
And as a photographer, getting to watch these girls grow throughout the year is such a special part of the experience.
The fair mini sessions were a reminder that senior photos don’t always have to be serious or perfectly posed. Sometimes, the best images come from simply having fun, being yourself, and making memories with your favorite people.
I don’t know about you, but I’m already counting down until next fair season! This session was such a fun way to celebrate my senior girls, and I’m so glad we got to make these memories together.
To all my senior ladies, thank you for showing up, bringing your personalities, and making every session such a joy. I love getting to photograph you throughout this exciting year, and these extra mini sessions make it even more special.
And to the Class of 2027 seniors who are starting to think about their senior photos, I hope you’re getting excited!
Your senior session can be more than just one day in front of the camera. From your individual portraits to fun seasonal mini sessions, there are so many ways to make your senior year photography experience feel like YOU.
