There is nothing better than a senior session that feels completely and uniquely like the person in front of the camera, and Liv absolutely brought that energy to her session.
From her one-of-a-kind outfits to the locations we explored and the art she brought along to incorporate into her photos, every part of Liv’s senior session reflected her personality and the things she loves most. And honestly? I loved every second of it.
We started Liv’s senior session in downtown German Village, walking through the charming cobblestone roads and finding beautiful brick backgrounds along the way.
For her first outfit, Liv wore a cute little blue top paired with white shorts. It was the perfect look for exploring the neighborhood and having fun with different poses.
One of my favorite parts of photographing seniors is watching them become more comfortable in front of the camera as the session goes on. Liv was ready to have fun, and her personality showed through right from the beginning.
As we explored, we even stumbled upon the cutest little handmade wooden swing. Of course, we had to stop and use it! It was such a fun find and ended up being the perfect fit for Liv’s personality. Sometimes the best parts of a senior session are the things you don’t plan. A cute little swing tucked away in a beautiful neighborhood? Absolutely yes.
For her next look, Liv changed into one of her favorite pairs of Converse, jeans, and a white halter top. This outfit was such a fun mix of casual and cool, and it gave us another opportunity to capture a completely different side of her style.
As we continued exploring, we found a big, old wooden door that made the perfect backdrop. The texture and character of the door paired so well with her outfit and gave us a completely different look from the brick streets and cobblestone roads we had started with. That’s one of the things I love most about exploring during a senior session. You never know what you might find.
Sometimes it’s a beautiful brick wall. Sometimes it’s a hidden swing. And sometimes it’s an old wooden door that ends up becoming the perfect backdrop for a photo.
The last part of Liv’s session is where I think she really showed her true self.
We made our way through beautiful garden pathways surrounded by flowers and lush greenery. Liv changed into a gorgeous dark green outfit and added a beautiful hairpiece that tied everything together.
She looked amazing. But more than that, she was confident. She was comfortable. She was completely herself and you could see it in every photo.
There is something so special about that moment during a senior session when everything clicks. The nerves disappear, the poses start to feel natural, and the senior in front of my camera realizes that they don’t have to be anyone else.
They can just be themselves and that is when the magic happens. Liv’s unique style paired perfectly with the garden setting. The dark green outfit stood out beautifully against all of the colorful flowers and greenery, and her hairpiece added the perfect finishing touch.
Every part of this look felt artistic, expressive, and completely Liv.
To finish her session, Liv changed into a beautiful white maxi dress, and we headed into a field of flowers.
But she didn’t come empty-handed. Liv brought along her canvas and paint to incorporate one of the things she loves most into her senior photos. She is an amazing artist, and I absolutely love when seniors bring their passions and favorite activities into their sessions. Your senior photos should tell your story.
They should capture more than just what you look like during your senior year. They should capture who you are. The things you love. The hobbies that inspire you. The activities that have helped shape you into the person you are becoming.
For Liv, that meant bringing her art into her session and it could not have been more perfect. As she painted in the middle of the field, surrounded by flowers and beautiful scenery, the sky above her seemed painted, too. It was one of those moments that felt almost too perfect to plan.
The soft colors in the sky, the field of flowers, Liv’s white dress, her canvas, and her paint all came together to create the perfect ending to her senior session. It felt peaceful. It felt creative and most importantly, it felt like her.
Liv’s senior session was a reminder of why I love encouraging seniors to bring their personality into their photos.
From her unique outfits and favorite Converse to the garden pathways, beautiful hairpiece, and her love for painting, every part of this session helped tell her story.
Senior photos don’t have to look like everyone else’s. They should feel like you. Bring the outfit that makes you feel confident. Wear the shoes you love. Bring something that represents your favorite hobby or activity. Choose locations that give your photos personality and variety.
The little details are what make your senior session unforgettable.
Liv, thank you for such a wonderful day and for trusting me to capture this exciting season of your life. I loved exploring German Village with you, finding beautiful and unexpected backdrops, walking through the gardens, and ending the day surrounded by flowers and creativity.
I am so glad you brought your art into your senior session and allowed your personality to shine in every part of it. Good luck in all of your future endeavors, Liv! I cannot wait to see where life takes you next.
